GS is a news site so I'd say they probably have a fair chance of getting a question answered. Them not being affiliated doesn't make that much difference to me.

Rumor mongering again. Even though they say that the site was registered last year that would put it about right for the dev team that is working on it. they have a 6 month cycle. They have one team working on one expansion until it come out then they start to work on another. This leads me to believe that the team working on the new chapter started just after Factions came out and are putting the finishing touches on it. When they release the name I would not be suprised if it is Utopia. Seeing as they dev team has had almost a year to work on it.
Mega Mouse
I don't always believe gaming magazines as they have a tendecy to start romours so quick.

They changed the administrative and technical contacts two days ago it seems as it used to be NCAustin:
Administrative Contact:
GUILDWARSUTOPIA.COMydhgVW @ PRIVACYPOST.COM
c/o GUILDWARSUTOPIA.COM
So they changed something in it, but did not delete it.....I love speculating

Guys, guys guys. A little off-topic. But I'm having some troubles.
Since English is my second language, I fail to understand why some of you guys think that "Utopia" is an awkward name? Some people even say that he won't be able to go to the counter and pay for the game with such name.
What's on earth? This word is rude/forbidden or something? To me it's just another ordinary english word. Prophecies/Factions/Nightfall/Utopia/Whatever are all the same, none of them are even connected to each other.
So please, enlighten me.

ROFL, the reason these people will be embarassed to buy it is because they think is sounds like a wussy name. To them it would be like going to a store and asking to buy "Guild Wars:Land of the Flower Fairies".
They want a name that sounds dark and mean and tough.
*Edit* - BTW, I think your English is excellent, much better than a lot of people that do have English as a primary language.

I really do think this was just a joke by the makers of the game to throw us off, And at those comments at the bottom of article, wow, thats funny, here are some of the better, more laughable ones:
"The franchise is a joke IMO, the games aren't even expansions. By definition a video game expansion adds to the current game, not create a whole new game."
"Oblivions better than Guild wars anyway."
"it will be worth it only if they raise the level cap to 40" (This one seriously made me contemplate moving to an armish community where there are no games which = no idiots )

"Guild Wars:Land of the Flower Fairies".
Now I know where Gwen is. She is the queen of this new chapter, thats why she wants all of the Red Iris Flowers we collect.

I posted this on the other thread, but I checked the United States Patent and Trademark Office and there's no registered trademark for Guild Wars:Utopia.

I am not convinced one way or the other but here are some facts about this new information...
No one on that news specifically says it IS NOT A GUILD WARS CHAPTER... unannounced project... Chapter 4 is an unannounced project as of now. However they are the first site that carried news of nightfall before it was released. It could go either way. I do not think Utopia would be a bad name or that it is wussy in any way. It actually carries alot of metaphoric undertones that hint at a dark humanity.

With this total silence coming from Anet on the fourth chapter I am starting to get a bit worried. Their 6 month schedual has Ch4 coming out April 28(?) of 2007. I think if we dont hear any offical news from ANet about Ch4 we can safly assume this date will be missed, by how much is the only question.

NCsoft very clearly said:
"... we do not intend to use it for a product name."
There is no doubt that a Guild Wars campaign would be considered a "product", so that is clearly ruled out.

It was obviously wild speculation. As I mentioned in another post, anyone can register for a domain name that's not already taken. It's like searching for guildwarsguru.com and assuming Guild Wars:Guru is the next chapter. If you compare the registration of guildwarsutopia.com and just plain gulidwars.com, you can see the difference right away. Guildwars.com is obviously registered to Arenanet. Their name is plastered all over it. With this Utopia domain name, the registration owner is somewhat vague.
Also, as I mentioned in my previous post, "Guild Wars Factions" and "Guild Wars Nightfall" are registered trademarks of NCSoft. There is no reference of "Guild Wars Utopia" being registered to them, or anyone for that matter. If they were working on a game to be released as early as April, I'd think they'd already have the name registered with the Patent and Trademark Office.

It just sounds cheesy. I personally do not have a problem with it as I've always enjoyed dystopia stories and anything naming itself 'Utopia' is almost by definition a dystopia, but the comparison to "Guild Wars: Land of the Flower Fairy Queens" is pretty accurate.
